Professional Profile

Brandt Winkelman is a Geospatial Analyst specializing in the fields of image manipulation, surface interpolation, hydrography/hydrology, geology and analyzing and interpreting large scale GIS datasets. He also processes Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) and Radar/Palsar data as part of an effort to create covertype classifications and volumetric models of forests.  Current research interests include the use of empirical data for terrestrial and aquatic systems ecological models. Brandt also works with Adobe web design products and built this website in the winter 2011. He is familiar with HTML, Spry, and CSS. Brandt worked for the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) on the Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) for the state of California as part of the USGS National Map initiative before coming to YERC.
